Describing the web tools used by a Philadelphia public charter school
Here’s a description of the tools that are used as a part of the Science Leadership Academy in Philadelphia, in the social networking realm:
*Moodle is used as a walled garden for students to receive content, participate in threaded discussions and also communicate 1:1 with students and staff See: http://www.scienceleadership.org/moodle
*Drupal is seen as the outside voice of the school where students are blogging, creating podcasts and uploading finished products and projects for the various curricular benchmarks as well as posting school announcements and calendar events.
*Some students are using twitter to communicate and build a network although that is a very small population.
*Ustream has been used to broadcast some of the actvities and projects conducted as well.
