Marla Crockett and I had the opportunity to connect by phone today and learn a bit about each other’s background and current roles. We both have a strong news background and interestingly have both moved into areas of civic journalism and advocacy. I looked forward to learning more about Marla’s work with the Kettering Foundation and the Harwood Institute. She said for her “it always comes back to journalism”. I couldn’t agree more.
We are looking for similar outcomes from next week’s conference; we are both open to new people and ideas and looking to lay the groundwork to build on the connections we make.
