Today represents a joining of two rivers involving both journalists and technologists. <\/p>\n

8:00 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. — Project work continues<\/h4>\n

*Starting anytime after 8 a.m. in the Domain Hotel breakfast cafe (lobby level), reconvene conceive\/design\/build breakouts from Friday and select a comfortable venue to work around the hotel. These projects, initiatives and seedling companies can continue hacking, and talking.<\/p>\n

9 a.m. — (concurrent) The JournaTech Expo at the Domain Hotel<\/h4>\n

*Meanwhile, the Northern California chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists<\/a>(SPJ) opens a one-day “Innovations in Journalism Expo”<\/a>and seminar. In the morning, individuals, groups, organizations and companies will use the Domain Hotel conference facility to “expose” their info-tech ideas to NewsTools2008 participants “and” SPJ one-day attendees. To register a JournoTech exhibit, email proposal details to jtm@mediagiraffe.org<\/a>. <\/p>\n

12:45 p.m. – 1:45 p.m. — Mid-day bag lunch <\/h4>\n

For registered NewsTools2008 participants, the Domain Hotel will provide a bag lunch during this period. Continue concept-design-build collaborations, or mingle with SPJ event attendees and exhibitors.<\/p>\n

Afternoon workshops, panels, seminars<\/h4>\n

*SPJ panels continue during and after lunch, and informal NewsTools2008 collaborations resume. <\/p>\n

1:45 p.m. – 3 p.m. NEWSTOOLS 2008 REPORTBACKS<\/h4>\n

SPJ, NewsTools and Expo participants gather for final briefings and next-step announcements from the NewsTools2008 project workers.<\/p>\n

3 p.m. — SPJ panels continue <\/h4>\n

NewsTools2008 participants can continue to attend final SPJ panels and make plans for ongoing collaboration. <\/p>\n
