This session was hosted outside on the front steps of the building by Jennifer Brandel and included small group conversations to unpack what the word \u201cradical\u201d means to people, what they can do to be more radical, and what blockers are holding them back. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We discussed these 3 questions (which you\u2019re welcome to think about on your own or with a friend!)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

  1. What or who is radical to you? Why? (This could be radical people, radical acts)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. What\u2019s holding you back from being more radical? <\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. What\u2019s one step you could take in your life or job to be your definition of radical? <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    • Naked Cowboy<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Bayo Akomolafe<\/li>\n\n\n\n

      • Simone Biles – opting out of gymnastics for a while<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Political Violence<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Urban Gardening<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Rest \/ Saying No<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

        We talked about how what\u2019s radical to one person may not look radical to another. (E.g., \u201cnot starting something new\u201d is radical for someone always starting things.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        We also talked about what\u2019s holding us back. Folks offered blockers such as conservative funders, the overhead of change management, and fear of judgment\/not belonging anymore. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

        The group was invited to share their emails with their conversation partners, setting a deadline to take one small step to do something radical or be more radical, and to check in with each other. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
