Why should they participate? Why care for global issues?<br \/>\n\u2192\tThe concern for things that are happening around the world is very limited<br \/>\n\u2192\tActors from the US are very concerned about power struggles, economy etc. in the country &gt; US-specific<br \/>\n\u2192\tPeople live in bubbles specific to their community<br \/>\nFind common issues, a common goal  = Global patterns for local issues: migration issues, climate change, mining etc.<br \/>\nBring people together (not only a virtual network) and work together<br \/>\nExample: \u201cDocumenting hate\u201d project (ProPublica)<\/p>\n<p>2) What else?<br \/>\nGoal: How to make global reporting more authentic, more nuanced? &gt; International Network of Engagers in Media<br \/>\nA project about finding solutions<br \/>\nMotivation can also be that you are an endangered species &gt; eco-corridor<br \/>\nOSListserve as a model for a network &gt; motto \u201ca phone call away\u201d<br \/>\n\u2192\tNatural trust<br \/>\n\u2192\tNo competition of the participants<br \/>\n\u2192\tShared value<\/p>\n<p>Not only about solutions for issues, the basic question for the network could also be: What do we do when we don\u2019t know what to do?<br \/>\n\u2192\tsharing worries, burdens, stands\u2026 the inner life<br \/>\n\u2192\tCarry things together, journeying with journalism<br \/>\n\u2192\tVoices that are not represented<br \/>\n= International Weavers Network<\/p>\n<p>3) Lessons? What next?<br \/>\nHave a conference in the beginning &gt; learning exchange, cultural competency<\/p>\n<p>Important questions, if for example the topic would be migration: What do the migrants get out of it? What are their needs? Letting them ask their questions, collaboration<\/p>\n<p>Next step: Workshop of the Agora Journalism Center with a partner of the Robert Bosch Stiftung, the Mediendienst Integration (Media Service Integration) about collaboration of the migrant community and journalists in Germany, in autumn, in Berlin<\/p>\n<p>Learnings will be the basis of a project of the Agora Journalism Center and the Robert Bosch Stiftung, starting with actors from North America and Europe (global approach in a next step)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Topic: International Engagers Network Session Host: Cornelia Reichel 1) What\u2019s the quest?
