Janensch earned his bachelor&#8217;s degree in philosophy from Georgetown University and a master&#8217;s degree in journalism from Columbia University. At Quinnipiac, he teaches graduate and undergraduate journalism. <\/p>\n<p>Janensch was a news professional for 30 years and served as the top editor of The Louisville Courier-Journal, The Journal-News in Nyack, N.Y., and The Worcester (Mass.) Telegram &amp; Gazette. He worked as a newspaper consultant in Russia and has visited China four times. He has written a weekly newspaper column in Connecticut for several years and comments weekly about the news media on the five stations of WNPR Connecticut Public Radio. <\/p>\n<p>Janensch has been quoted frequently in Peter Johnson&#8217;s media columns in USA Today. His column appears on the first and third Thursday of each month.
