David Ryfe joined the University of Nevada-Reno’s Reynolds School of Journalism in 2006 as an associate journalism professor. His research interests are newsroom sociology and deliberative democracy. He moved from Middle Tennessee State University, where he was also a professor. For five years until 2005 he was a lecturer at the University of California Berkeley and, before that, at UC-San Diego.
