Paul Janensch is an associate professor of communications at Quinnipiac University. Janensch earned his bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Georgetown University and a master’s degree in journalism from Columbia University. At Quinnipiac, he teaches graduate and undergraduate journalism.

Janensch was a news professional for 30 years and served as the top editor of The Louisville Courier-Journal, The Journal-News in Nyack, N.Y., and The Worcester (Mass.) Telegram & Gazette. He worked as a newspaper consultant in Russia and has visited China four times. He has written a weekly newspaper column in Connecticut for several years and comments weekly about the news media on the five stations of WNPR Connecticut Public Radio.

Janensch has been quoted frequently in Peter Johnson’s media columns in USA Today. His column appears on the first and third Thursday of each month. He can be heard at 8:35 a.m. Thursdays on the five stations of WNPR Connecticut Public Radio, including 90.5 FM in Hartford.
