Elin Waring is a volunteer writer/editor for the ePluribus Media collaborative and an expert on the open-source Joomla! Project. She is a professor of sociology at Herbert Lehman College of the City University of New York. She does research in the area of criminology and research methods and has written several books and numerous scholarly articles. She has her doctorate in sociology from Yale. She is also a member of the board of trustees of Manhattan Country School, an innovative independent school in New York City.
