    my partner is janet jai and she’s from pennsylvania; i’m local. like many here, we are both going to the two boston conferences, this one and the media reform one following. we’ve exchanged a couple phone calls and a couple emails and we agree on a couple things: the two events back to back should complement well and lead to a tiring and rewarding week; this library conference is the more intriguing of the two because of this innovative pre-conference communication scheme and because the smaller number of particpants should lead to more sharing, and the library as an institution is particularly well-poised to take on a wider mission in the near future.
