Jack is Director of New Media and Innovation at Illinois Public Media, formerly known as WILL Public Broadcasting, at the University of Illinois. He is a guest lecturer at the College of Media at Illinois, and presents workshops on Internet media, online journalism, metadata, digital preservation, and web development at academic and media industry conferences. He chairs the News, Documentary, and Television Committee of the Association of Moving Image Archivists, and is a founding member of PubForge.org. He also serves on the PBCore Resource Group, responsible for change management and user support for the PBCore metadata standard, and is lead developer for the social media/metadata site pbcoreresources.org. He also writes for several blogs including pbcore.org, openwebworks.org, and microappleyahoogoogleplex.org.
